2010 Fundraiser Description
The 2010 CHEF Fundraiser was held on February 8, 2010 at the Bonita Bay Club Ball Room. Attendees from the combined bailliages of Naples and Bonita Springs left their cars with the valet parkers and entered “The Stork Club.” The Southwest Florida Big Band played music of the swing era including
Goodman, Miller, Dorsey, Ellington and Basie throughout the evening. The attire was black tie and there were a few top hats, canes and red carnations to spruce things up. The theme was enforced by commemorative pins, table toppers and place cards. Many attendees brought their dancing shoes and there was even some exhibition dancing!

The highlight of the evening was the announcement of the winners of the silent auction. A live auction was also held with six sensational packages including dinners by noted chefs, vacation homes and fantastic wines. A 50/50 Raffle was also held during the evening. A student from FGCU helped with the Raffle and was a welcome addition to the evening. The silent auction featured meals at Southwest Florida’s best eateries and wines of note from around the world as well as a number of décor and personal objects.
The gala raised over $24,000 to benefit local culinary arts and hospitality students.
